Larry and Cindi were raised in Brazil as missionary children. Larry's parents served with Word of Life in the southern city of Sao Paulo and Cindi's parents with ABWE in the jungle of the upper Amazon. They met at Hampden DuBose Academy in Zellwood, Florida, during their high school days. After attending Cedarville University they were married in 1974.

Believing that God had called them to the Portuguese speaking world, in April of 1976 they met the challenge and went to Portugal to start the Word of Life ministry. After serving in Portugal for 23 years, in 1998, they returned to the United States to serve at the Word of Life International Headquarters.

In 2008 they launched yet another challenge, this new mission called ... Global Portuguese Outreach Inc, a ministry committed to taking the Word of God to the worldwide portuguese community. (GPO is a religious not for profit corporation with 501C3 status pending)

Their passion is the 232 million people scattered in nine nations whose official language is Portuguese and to the millions who reside in Paris, France, Johannesburg, South Africa and the well over 1,5 million here in the United States (greater Boston area; greater New York area; greater Miami area and greater San Francisco area).

Their vision is to work alongside national pastors and leaders in a cooperative ministry of evangelism, discipleship and leadership training.

They have two children. Luke 25, is a graduate of Liberty University and lives in Arlington Texas. Luke works for Brad Cecil & Associates, a company that aids non profits with fund raising.

Jessie Anna is 20 and a junior at Cedarville University. She majors in Athletic Training and thoroughly enjoys this phase of her life.
