DUARTE CASMARRINHA

Yesterday was also the birthday of Duarte. He was a young man that came to camp the first or second summer ... if not both. He graduated in the first class of the Word of Life Bible Institute in Portugal. I believe he also met his wife Betinha at camp. He worked on staff for several years ... left and after we returned to the US returned on staff for a few more years. Today he heads up the "Centro Biblico de Esmoriz" a Brethren Bible Conference Center in the north of Portugal.

Duarte is a gifted communicator of the Word of God. He is or better said, was, an extremely good athlete. Teenagers love him and we are so proud to see him going on in leadership in Portugal. Every Sunday he is speaking in churches and runs a full summer camping ministry at the conference center.

As we look at Portugal we see so many young couples in ministry today. How blessed we are to be able to see all that they are accomplishing for the glory of God. Our desire is to see many of these couples joining us in Africa.

When I think of Duarte and Betinha I think of this phrase:

Man's heart beats the happiest when it beats for others.
Happy Birthday Duarte ... desejamos que o Senhor lhe de muitos anos de boa saude para poder continuar a servi-Lo.
