C ... Cooperating with national leaders

For 23 years in Portugal we worked alongside national pastors in evangelism and discipleship. Our hearts have been challenged to do all we can to aid and support these leaders as they faithfully fulfill their calling. The church in Africa and in Indonesia have struggled to grow as they for decades have had to face revolutions, civil wars, extreme poverty and Marxist governments. The spiritual needs are unbelievable.

4 YOUNG COUPLES IN MINISTRY TODAY

These young couples are all graduates of the Word of Life Bible Institute in Portugal and today are serving the Lord in Mozambique and in Portugal. Jorge and Alice (lower right hand corner) have already left Portugal for Mozambique. We look forward to challenging many other young couples to do the same as we set a strategy to impact each nation with the gospel resulting in new churches.

O ... Organizing ministries of impact

Global Portuguese Outreach will organize major evangelistic events in all of the major cities. Networking with the churches and para-church organizations we invision city wide crusades ... sports teams coming from the USA to get into local schools, universities and sports clubs ... music teams coming for street evangelism ... renting facilities for youth to provide them with a camping experience.

Not only will GPO be organizing events for evangelism but we are committed to discipling a new young generation to take the gospel to their own people. There is a tremendous lack of biblical training and we see ourselves helping get the deserving ones through Bible school in Portugal or Brasil.

These ministries of impact will also involve leadership training. GPO will be organizing pastors conferences and similar conferences which will provide leadership tools for evangelism, youth work, Sunday Schools etc... Many of our pastor friends have already offered to come and be a part of this outreach in Africa.

R ... Remodeling church and para-church facilities

GPO wants to help the church with small projects by bringing work teams to help with touch up projects. Many of the churches also have orphanages due to the high level of illegitimacy, aids and child abandonment resulting from extreme poverty. GPO wants to help the churches meet some of the most basic needs of these children.

REMODELING FACILITIES

Like this auditorium that has been used of the Lord in so many wonderful ways. Literally thousands have heard the gospel and hundreds have been saved inside this building in Portugal and GPO sees itself coming alongside national pastors and ministries to help them upgrade their facilities.

E ... Evangelism

Global Portuguese Outreach clearly understands our mandate to take the gospel to the lost and needy. God has burdened our hearts with the Portuguese speaking worldwide community. We long to see these nations turn to Christ. We are committed to training a new generation of young leaders who will become the evangelists, pastors and leaders of the church. The words of Jesus in John 9:4 move us to action ... "I (WE) must work the works of Him that sent me (US), while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."
